How It Works

Sounds

  • Short Whistle - A quick high-pitched tweet. Use it to stop play, indicate a foul, or signal a throw-in.
  • Long Whistle - A sustained blast. Use it to mark the end of a period or the final whistle of the game.
  • Double Whistle - Two short tweets in rapid succession. Common signal for a foul or penalty in many sports.
  • Buzzer - The classic end-of-period electronic tone heard in basketball and hockey arenas.
  • Air Horn - A loud, sustained blast synthesised to mimic compressed-air horns used at football and rugby matches.
  • Alarm - A rapid repeating beep for urgent situations such as a safety timeout or equipment issue.

Volume

  • Use the volume slider at the top to set the output level before pressing a button.
  • For the loudest effect on mobile, set your device volume to maximum and the slider to 100%.

Mobile use

  • All sounds use the Web Audio API and require no app download or internet connection after the page loads.
  • On iOS, tap once anywhere on the page first to unlock audio, then tap the sound buttons.
  • The large touch targets are designed for quick, accurate taps even in the middle of a fast game.

All sounds are synthesised in your browser. No audio files are downloaded and no data is sent to a server.
